The project was launched thanks to the presence in Turin of important organisations of the UN System and of the European Union devoted to training, research and technical assistance.

Indeed, the Turin International Summer School aims to provide participants with specific knowledge on emerging global challenges from a United Nation and European Union perspective.

The Turin International Summer School is organised by

• the European Training Foundation (ETF),
• the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI),
• the Faculty of Law of the University of Torino
• the International Training Center of the ILO (ITCILO)
  
• the University Institute of European Studies (IUSE)

and with the financial support of the Compagnia di San Paolo.

The joint efforts of these institutions, confirm the Turin’s role in international sharing knowledge and training.

The 2009 edition, focused on Migration - Challenges and Opportunities for Europe, is organised in co-operation with the International and European Forum of Migration Research (FIERI).
